SUNWELL PLATEAU, Isle of Quel'Danas (AP) -- Somehow a raid of 25 managed to all log on at the same time and kill a goddamn windchime. Through liberal use of Toxic's hard-earned 3pc Tier1 Thorns, general chat spam (and thus reportings), MMPVP!, Anal [Berserking], Umbra's horrifying stories, Helen Keller jokes, and an impressive amount of emo, we somehow survived and pull it off. This one could've gone either way, folks, and we're just happy its over (until yknow, next week). To commemorate the occasion, all IA members are required to get trampstamp tattoos of Muru on their lower back. Mordrend, Semm, et al can move the tattoo to a different location, as this location is already apparently being used. Special thanks to everyone who either no longer plays, got kicked, transferred away, or shamespiralled. Its so hard...to say goodbye...to yesterdaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.

Announcement:: The Eredar Twins Down
Posted: Tsien @ Sun May 25, 2008 7:16 pm
About fucking time. I hate this fight. See, gravity is a bitch. In classic IA style, the chief difficulty of the fight wasn't our strategery or class composition, but keeping key members online during learning attempts. We've tangled with the Internet Boss before, but since this is the Eredar Twins, Blizzard introduced a new crony: the Ledge Boss. It is in fact nigh impossible to not fall off a skinny ledge and instantly wipe the raid. Simple, elegant game design. We choked it with resto shaman (thanks Cyra and Texx), which is par for the course, since one of our pallies choked. But the pally got shoulders, which gave Lucit something new to bitch about, so all is right with the world.

Infernal Affairs finishes the job that Brutallus couldn't close. The trick to this fight is simple: stack your raid with 24 priests. Everyone who worked on this fight knows Mass Dispell range intimately now. Guild alchemists scurried to find the Arcane Pot Cauldron recipe, and those efforts are appreciated. Thanks for Tardalion for learning the Deep Breath calls and putting up with Mordrend's grunting through bad calls, buffing, or anything really. Firre was super pro in the last, terrible 1% and bought the time needed to kill the bitch for a second time. Healers stepped the hell up, and earned us a server first in Sunwell. Good thing we told them they'll get a break with the Eredar Twins...

Announcement:: Brutallus Down

Mordrend has a band of punishers he trots out when he needs to turn a place into a ghost town. Apparently, this band is lead by Bulletbill's insane DPS on Brutallus. I demand a mistrial, but the pit lord died, so its just another day in the valley for Infernal Affairs. Special thanks to Sympa, Soladoras, Xmortys and Bacca for gimping their personal dps to help the raid as a whole. You soldiers deserve epic dog tags, and your sacrifice will never be forgotten. Personally, I'm still kind of numb, stroking the collective IA epeen. In the end, we rolled the dice, and pulled it off. Congratulations all around.

Announcement:: Kalecgos Down, Somewhere In Time
Posted: Tsien @ Wed Apr 09, 2008 10:04 pm
We killed Kalecgos last week, and our guild forums just rolled back to March of last year. So uh...we're progressing faster than Blizzard intended, clearly.
Since Januaray 16th of this year, Doomwalker has been the albatross around the guild's neck. In our previous attempts, we'd invite too many apps or taunt key offtanks with mean-spirited custom fail timers. None of this even approaches our somnolant main tank situation. It became a guild legend, and we gave up trying by the time we started Serpentshrine. Our goal was to kill Illidan, and then follow it up with Doomwalker. Last night, on an "accidental" pull, he dropped in about one minute. It was a complete joke. The guild's honor has avenged, and our Wowjutsu score jumped up by like .001%. Nice clutch work from Tryel, and awesome flyover from some random Hordie. Its great to kill the other world boss without our own guildies tardgriefing us.

Announcement:: Illidan Stormrage Down, Black Temple Cleared

After almost a year as a guild, Infernal Affairs has beaten the final boss in the Burning Crusade. This was our third server first, and easily the boss we cared the most about. Guildies came in on offnights just to help learn the fight. The entire guild focused to make this final push, and we're proud of every member's efforts. On the final kill attempt, each raid member had tiny moments of amazing greatness, that were probably ignored by everyone else in the heat of the moment, but added up to the big finish. By big finish, I mean everyone being confused and spamming vent with "Wait, is he dead? Don't stop killing him! What is he doing? My nutsack hurts! Nobody fuck up!" Grats to Thell and Myzz on the new chestpieces, Soladoras on the dagger that can summon those Flames we hate, and Billz on having a felhunter zergling strapped to his back. This is an accomplishment we're going to be proud of for a long, long time. When it mattered most, Infernal Affairs was prepared. OMG SECOND HEARTHSTONE!

Announcement:: Illidari Council Down
Posted: Tsien @ Tue Nov 27, 2007 12:31 am
Our second server first in as many days. After making ridiculously short work of Mother last night, we put in some attempts on the Illidari Council, with our best attempt landing us somewhere around 43%. This put everyone in the mindset to come in and wreck some blood elf face tonight. Schism walked away lootwhoring four-piece Tier6, and Vortexx rode coattails from last nights attempts to attain his overpowered two-piece bonus. The failure leather healing shoulders were sharded, as is the custom. Everyone is stepping up their game, and its an awesome time to be a raiding guild on Moonrunner. Best of all, since the Illidari Council shares a health mechanic similar to the Twin Emps, we can all cheer Conier on for overcoming the shadow of the past.

Announcement:: Mother Shahraz Down, Server First
Posted: Tsien @ Sun Nov 25, 2007 10:00 pm
For many of us, this has been a long time coming. Attaining a server first has been a major WoW goal for the vast majority of our guild since its inception. This is particularly sweet because of how everyone in the guild, casual or "hardcore" came together to make this happen. Guildies donated Primals, Void Crystals, Fel Hides, all sorts of things to get the Shadow Resist made for everyone in the raid. It was also a holiday week, and yet less-than-full raids went into the Black Temple to farm trash for Hearts of Darkness, again and again. All of this added up to destroying Mother Shahraz on our second serious attempt ever. Awesome work by everyone making this happen, you guys are completely badass.

Announcement:: Reliquary of Souls Down
Posted: Tsien @ Tue Nov 20, 2007 2:36 pm
Oh hey, we killed Reliquary last night, a day after our Bloodboil kill. This can be a complicated fight, so theres some epeen fun with dispatching it in such a short time. After getting to phase three on our first evening, everyone scrambled to accrue even more consumables, and came through for the win. Semm double-dipped the loot, in an attempt to boost his overall iLevel and to contribute to the Great Moonrunner Two-Hander Conspiracy. Healers got the shout out last time for Bloodboil, so respect must be given to our rogue team for tanking and interrupt skills. Also, that DPS helps a bit too. Now to get finished with those shadow resist sets for Mother Shazzbot.
